Red Seven Restaurant Review:

For a sleek lunchtime ambience, travel to this casual Asian cuisine spot from Wolfgang Puck, located in the green building of the Pacific Design Center. The décor and ambience are as stylish and sophisticated as the surrounding stores, with tables facing a long bar and the outside plaza, where you may dine as well. The story behind the name is that seven is Puck’s favorite number; it is Puck’s seventh restaurant in Los Angeles; and red refers to the color of the building that will join the complex. In collaboration with Lee Hefter, chef Ben Hong proposes an easy menu with flavors from the Orient, bolstered by specials from the market. Appetizers include a Thai watermelon salad with feta cheese, the Chinois Chinese chicken salad, albacore sashimi and home-style chicken soup. Mains are heartier, including crispy gnocchi with roasted pulled chicken and pomegranate reduction, miso salmon and a Kobe-style burger. Dessert is limited with only a cookie plate and chocolate cheesecake on order. Since it’s a lunch-only venue, the wine list is very short, but includes two sakés and interesting cocktails.
