RingSide Steakhouse Restaurant Review:

RingSide Steakhouse may have retro appeal, but there's nothing dated about its food or service. If your vision of an elegant night out is a big juicy steak, you won't find a better place to indulge. Offerings include the famous RingSide onion rings, lobster mashed potatoes, and the house-made Thousand Island/ranch dressing that seems to accent almost everything. While house-aged cuts of beef are obviously the star attraction, seafood such as cedar-planked wild salmon and crab-stuffed sole more than hold their own. Among creative salads is endive and watercress with poached pears, Marcona almonds and Gorgonzola tossed in an amaretto vinaigrette. Go for the ricotta cheesecake for dessert. Professional waiters, many of whom have been on the staff for decades, provide seamless service and generous pours of wine. The wine cellar has storage for 10,000 bottles with 60 selections regularly available by the glass. For the best value, arrive before 6 p.m. (or 5 p.m. Fri.-Sun.) for a prix-fixe three-course dinner.
