This simple yet popular North Ender drips with old-world charm. The starchy menu includes dishes like fettuccine calamari, ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta, and clams tossed with spaghetti and garlic in a white wine sauce. But there is also a grilled veal chop, double rib pork chop and grilled rib-eye, along with seafood risotto and stuffed lobster tail. A prix-fixe three-course seafood menu is available, which includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. All of this is served in a comfortable dining room with hand-painted murals and an adjacent bar that pours a mean martini and sweet Bellini. Service can be brusque and the food isn't earth-shattering, but the whole experience is memorable for its traditional atmosphere. For dessert, don’t miss the homemade cannolis with a creamy rich ricotta filling and mini chocolate chips, which go nicely with a cappuccino or after-dinner Villa Francesca martini made with Kahlúa, vodka, Baileys and espresso.
