A carnivore’s hub for juicy steaks, martinis, good wine and bay views.
Ruth's Chris Steak House Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Tourists like to dine at Ruth's Chris to experience dramatic views of San Diego Bay from its second story-perch just opposite the Embarcadero --- be sure to ask for a table in front.
Food & Drinks: Locals enjoy the place for its quality steaks, steaks and more steaks. And not your typical, run-of-the-mill steaks either --- Ruth’s Chris serves meat cut from the top two percent of beef raised in the United States, so Prime that it just about wears blue ribbons to the table. Besides a variety of beef cuts, there are lamb and veal chops, chicken, Maine lobsters and ahi, preceded by a large selection of salads (Caesar, caprese and iceberg wedge) and appetizers (crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms). Side dishes, in family-style portions, include baked, fried and mashed potatoes; creamed spinach; and thumb-thick asparagus spears. The wine list is written --- and priced --- to impress. There's also a happy hour for vintage cocktails and tasty sippers like strawberry-basil gimlets.
