Sam Snead’s Tavern Restaurant Review:
Sam Snead’s is nothing fancy, but service is efficient and the fare is dependable and a cut above other chains for unpretentious, upscale bar food. The menu is easy, with burgers, oak-grilled steaks, chicken and chops. If you’re watching your waistline, skip the appetizers (with selections like hot cheese and spinach dip and deep-fried “niblicks”---chicken and cheese wrapped in a crisp shell). Fresh grouper and salmon are lighter entrées; a bone-in pork chop and creamy shrimp-and-lobster pasta are for heartier appetites. The attractive dining room feels like a golf clubhouse, decorated in greens and browns with golfing trophies and photos that pay homage to legendary golfer Sam Snead. The friendly staff whisks you to a table and delivers food hot and fast. Wrap up the meal with one of the decadent desserts.
