Saybrook Fish House Restaurant Review:
Warm, simple, vaguely countrified --- upon entrance, Saybrook Fish House looks like nothing so much as a heartland diner. At meal's end, nice little touches like hot towels and a complimentary fruit bowl to cleanse both hands and palate will also make you feel at home. But in between is a full-on fish house experience. The extensive menu ranges from raw bar treats and fried seafood platters to old-school-of-fish entrées like shrimp scampi and broiled scrod, all of which come with bread, salad and family-style vegetables. Little ones need not settle for nuggets: the children's menu will teach them to love baked scallops or fish ‘n’ chips. An early bird menu available from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day except Sunday is one of greater Hartford's best meal deals.
