Snug Harbor Restaurant Review:

Jazz is the calling card at Snug Harbor. The atmosphere is a bit old and worn, but the experience is strictly New Orleans. The biggest names in American jazz have played the stage here, but on your way in, you may want to fortify yourself with some pretty decent food. A surprisingly good version of blackened fish is available, while the rest of the bill of fare contains workaday renditions of local standards such as shrimp rémoulade, gumbo, barbecued shrimp and crawfish etouffée. One surprise is a standout filet. Don't expect fine wines; this is more of a beer and burger joint. In fact, the first-rate burger shares a pedigree with the more celebrated burger at Port of Call, which uses Snug Harbor’s kitchen to prepare its version. Desserts are limited to bread pudding and pecan pie. If you’ve come with music in mind, you might do well to order from the limited bar menu on the other side of the wall.
