St. Honore Boulangerie Restaurant Review:

Fans of St. Honore Northwest are familiar with its French pastries, artisan breads, sandwiches and salads. The café on SE Division offers all this and more, most notably ciders on tap and treats from baker/owner Dominique Geulin's native Alsace. Best among the breads, which are baked in a traditional French clay oven, is the crusty “Miche Banal” made with local, organic Shepherd's Grain flour. To indulge a sweet tooth, choices range from cream puffs to canelés, buttery kouign amann and millefeuille (puff pastry with vanilla bean cream), all ready to take home or enjoy on site with espresso. Traditional French dishes such as salade niçoise, croque monsieur, and a wide range of hot and cold panini also appeal. The Alsace menu lists hearty dishes ideal for chilly days or after a long hike or bike ride. Try the Alsatian tarts; homemade spätzle in cream sauce with onions, bacon and mushrooms; or roasted pork loin with caramelized cauliflower. Brunch brings a number of entrées including quiche. For the music-minded, there are live jam sessions on Friday nights.
