Strings Restaurant Review:

This neighborhood eatery features a 102-seat dining room, an outdoor patio, a counter facing the open kitchen and creative cuisine that includes an array of seasonal specialties. Among appetizers are mussels simmered in a zesty seafood broth and shrimp scampi. Minestrone or the café salad and fresh-baked garlic bread precede all entrées. Strings creations include its lasagna pastry --- lasagna noodles layered with Italian cheeses and baked in an onion-garlic pastry shell served with meat and Alfredo sauces. We also suggest the calamari steak sautéed in garlic, white wine, capers and lemon topped with shrimp accompanied by angel hair. Hearty diners like the oven-roasted pork tenderloin medallions in a light demi-glaze with mushrooms, onions and garlic, served with red potatoes and vegetables, and the traditional chicken Parmesan. Pizzas, calzones and sandwiches are also presented with the minestrone or salad. Complementing the savory fare is a nice selection of wines, all available by the glass. Save room for Strings’ signature dessert, a decadent lasagna brownie layered with French vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate and raspberry sauces, whipped cream and chocolate flakes.
