Tapas y Vino Restaurant Review:

A bustling patio welcomes guests to this traditional Spanish tapas bar in Redondo Beach’s Riviera Village, with a large fire pit that creates a nice ambience for a romantic date or lounging with a group. Inside, the TV can be somewhat distracting among the otherwise dimly lit and sexy décor. Though there are several American-style dishes, the Spanish tapas are the best way to go. Lentil and chorizo soup is a flavorful start, spiked with plenty of spices and chunky pieces of sausage. A classic “tortilla de patatas” is a thick cut egg omelet filled with spicy onions and peppers, as well as bits of crispy potato and chorizo. Lamb meatballs are rustic and satisfying in a well-reduced sauce of tomato, mint and feta cheese. Large plate options include duck breast on couscous, hazelnut-crusted black cod and rack of lamb, but it is the admirable interpretation of Spanish paella, complete with crusty edges and filled with sausage, chicken and shellfish, that makes the best impression. A somewhat random assortment of desserts includes blueberry bread pudding and tiramisu, and though the wine list is vast, it is mostly from California with a few Spanish selections.
