Thai Purple Restaurant Review:
A reliable neighborhood Thai restaurant in the midst of Alhambra's downtown renaissance, Thai Purple is noted for its spicy fare (if you request a dish hot, it will be fiery). Tables are draped in purple Thai fabrics and the dining room is eclectically appointed, as Thai artifacts share space with models of the Mayflower and covered wagons. Highlights from the extensive menu include the usual suspects like angel wings, pad thai and seafood tom yum soup. More exotic selections come in the form of duck tongues with mint, spicy squid salad and scallops stir-fried in a black pepper-garlic sauce over broccoli. A full dozen curries are available to order, of which we most enjoyed the red curry with pumpkin.
