Thaiphoon Restaurant Review:

In a city saturated with Thai restaurants, is there room for more? Thaiphoon may truly make you wonder. Be aware that the flavors are slightly off kilter, so that true Thai aficionados may be disappointed in such dishes as the duck salad, composed of sliced roast duck nestled in a bed of field greens. (It would have been enhanced if the greens were of the Thai variety.) A better appetizer choice is the fried tofu squares with a side of sweet-and-sour dipping sauce. As for entrées, the menu holds no surprises, offering not much more than tried-and-true variations. For some reason, the Thai iced coffee even seemed to be lacking much of the expected caffeine punch. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a pleasant place to catch up with friends, this restaurant is as good as any. On the other hand, if you crave the kick of chilies, lemon grass and lime leaf, head elsewhere. Other locations.
