Tillman's Roadhouse Restaurant Review:

Tillman's Corner opened in 1992 in the Bishop Arts district long before it became home to a half-dozen or so chic cafés. Tillman’s soon developed a loyal following of diners who came for the lively New American cuisine and casual atmosphere. The restaurant underwent an update last year, when it changed the name to Tillman's Roadhouse and redesigned the décor. Fortunately, it kept its funky tavern feel, even with the installation of velvet and leather banquettes and Murano glass chandeliers. Favorite dishes are the honey-and-lavender-glazed salmon and the grilled bone-in pork chop perched atop creamy grits with a side of fried green beans. The signature chicken-fried hanger steak can sometimes be a little tough, and it’s not value-priced, but it’s worth a try on a return visit. The dessert menu shows some forethought, with most sweets designed for sharing, such as the Grandma’s 13 cookie assortment. It’s the ideal place for an urban cowboy to hang his hat and rustle up some grub.
