Trio Bistro Restaurant Review:

We don't know what folks in the upscale-professional east side suburb of Kenwood would do without Trio Bistro. The versatile restaurant has a young vibe, all-ages clientele and a hip, circular bar made for hanging out. Décor is contemporary but welcoming, with burnished wood booths, warm shades of bronze and copper, and snazzy brushed-metal accents. And the food is dependably good. The menu is eclectic --- Italian pastas to all-American meatloaf and pork shank. Gourmet pizzas are a sure bet, and include a simple Roma tomato and pesto number and a version with smoked salmon, herbed cream cheese and capers. We also recommend the crab cakes and the mashed potato pie with cheddar, Monterey Jack, bacon, chives and sour cream. If you are looking for heart-healthy options, Trio Bistro offers a 245-calorie portobello mushroom burger, a 450-calorie California grouper or a Moroccan flatbread that's 230 calories. If you are not calorie-counting, though, you may be tempted by bread pudding with cream on the side or the fudge-like chocolate torte. There’s an extensive wine list, and the microbrews and martinis make happy hour happier.
