Union 50 Restaurant Review:
This chef-driven restaurant/bar has the right formula for pleasing everyone: a fun vibe, tasty and innovative dishes, popular handcrafted cocktails and local brews. A charcuterie board of locally sourced meats, cheeses and artisan breads gets the party started. Dinner options come in petit, bistro and grand sizes, giving diners options to share and sample a range of seasonal fare. Smoked jalapeño emulsion and shaved fennel garnish tuna crudo; meatloaf and swordfish go Asian with kimchi flavors; the smoked pork chop gets a bourbon-maple glaze. Cocktails are cleverly named and reasonably priced. There are some decent wines by the glass and nice selections by the bottle. Desserts are limited, but a glass of sherry makes a nice stand-in.
