Uptown Sushi Restaurant Review:
This trendy restaurant in Uptown Park caters to the chic and wealthy with its fusion sushi rolls. Nonetheless, we prefer the nigiri with toppings. A simple slice of yellowtail atop a hand-rolled rice bed gets kicked up a notch with a drizzle of ponzu, Parmesan shavings, a jalapeño slice and habanero tobiko. While sushi is the main draw, don’t pass up the grilled entrées, especially the Kurobuta pork chop, a bone-in loin chop of prime Berkshire pork with sautéed garlic, shiitake mushrooms and bok choy. Bento boxes are a good and reasonably priced choice for lunch. There’s a decent wine list and a lovely array of saké that includes Ty Ku White’s Ultra Premium Junmai Daiginjo, plus a full bar with some interesting martinis. It can get crowded and loud as the night goes on, but those who come here late know exactly what to expect.
