Mercato della Pescheria, Las Vegas, NV

Mercato della Pescheria Restaurant Review

: Translated from Italian to “the fish market,” Mercato della Pescheria boasts décor that may make you feel like you’ve been transported to a traditional coastal seafood market along the shores of Italy, with cured meats hanging from the ceiling, 12 market stations and the aroma of charcoal ovens. Many of the menu items are served family style, like the charred Mediterranean octopus with chickpea purée, or Italian meatball slow braised in roasted tomato marinara. Pizzas, cooked on a wood-fire grill, are similar to ones you would find in Napoli, like the margherita simply dressed with San Marzano tomato and mozzarella. Pastas are well represented by the potato gnocchi tossed with roasted shallots and pea tendrils on a bed of rich Bolognese and finished with Grana Padano. A Spanish-style Josper coal-fired oven is utilized to prepare fine meats including osso buco veal, NY strip and bone-in rib-eye; and fresh seafood such as Mediterranean sea bass, salmon and yellowtail. Complementing the authentic Italian dishes are 54 wines mainly from Italy and Napa, 26 of which are sold by the glass or half bottle. Finish with the tiramisu, presented tableside with hot chocolate poured over Savoiardi Lady Fingers and Segafredo Espresso, mixed with mascarpone and with chocolate shaved over the top. An expansive brunch menu is offered Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
