Mestizo is the creation of chef Aarón Sánchez, co-star of the Food Network’s “Chopped” and “Heat Seekers.” The restaurant’s sleek interior has high ceilings and stone-accented walls, and there are two outdoor dining areas. Sánchez creates dishes using only the freshest, sustainable ingredients, resulting in a menu of boldly flavored Mexican cuisine. Start with the daily ceviche or a salad of jícama, mango, chile and cucumber dressed in lime. Meanwhile, the adventuresome might choose tongue tacos or crispy veal sweetbreads in tamarind sauce with bacon. Modern takes on classic Mexican desserts, such as flan and churros, do not disappoint.
