THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mildred's Restaurant Review:

Named for Mildred Pierce, a Joan Crawford character who just happened to own a restaurant, this where the boys are café posts Ms. Crawford’s picture along with those of Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol on its walls. Big windows look out to the street and customers (sorry, we can’t use diners) relax on comfy, velvet chairs. There’s table service, but no kitchen, as all of the food is brought in. Still the sources are excellent and the morning pastries, afternoon sandwiches and focaccia pizzas are of better-than-average quality. They make coffee, but it’s not nearly as good as the version found at nearby Francesca’s. And then there’s the scene. And that’s why this prime hunk of real estate keeps on trucking.
