In business since 1946, Milo’s must be doing something right. Milo Carlton honed his burger cooking skills as a mess cook in the U.S. Army. When he opened the original Milo’s in a small cinder block building on the north side, he began experimenting with his secret burger sauce and listening to customers’ comments. As they began asking for extra sauce, he knew his recipe had been perfected. Now a small but successful local chain, Milo's serves fries with seasoned salt alongside the burgers and super-sweet tea. Fans ask for extra sauce for dipping their fries. Guests who are not feeling the love for the sauce (sort of a cross between a barbecue and a steak sauce) can order crunchy chicken tenders or chicken sandwiches. To complement the chicken, other sauce options include ranch, honey mustard, boom-boom and double o (a mixture of the burger sauce and ranch).
