Morgane Restaurant Review:

In a white subway-tiled setting reminiscent of the many French bistros in Paris and Manhattan, Morgane has brought traditional bistro fare to busy, trendy Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. Designed for Brooklyn hipsters as well as family audiences, the long, narrow venue also has an outdoor seating area that we wished could have been enlivened with some color or softer lighting, and had much larger tables. Nonetheless, the food is solid if not dramatic, although service and presentation is not as refined as at many of the restaurant’s competitors. Baked goods come from Manhattan’s Balthazar restaurant and the zinc bar feels as familiar as the menu items. Among the best dishes are the tuna tartare, steak au poivre and moules marinières. An early evening prix-fixe special includes an appetizer, main course, and choice of beer or wine.
