Mother's Bistro & Bar Restaurant Review:

Mother's Bistro & Bar moved into a larger location at Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Downtown. Chef, owner and mom Lisa Schroeder dishes up large platters of comfort food inspired by recipes from mothers of all nations. Breakfast, arguably the most popular meal, includes waffles, oatmeal, house-made buttermilk biscuits and wild salmon hash. Try the matzoh ball soup, chopped liver or Greek salad for lunch, and for dinner, the pierogi, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, Dungeness crab cakes or pulled pork are always hits. Each month, Schroeder features a Mother of the Month, with dishes highlighting favorite home-style recipes from this mom's home country or culture. There's always a daily pie, a hot fudge sundae and Devil’s Food chocolate cake. Wine and draft beers are also available.
