THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mr. Chow Restaurant Review:

A local clientele --- clad in anything from shorts and T-shirts to evening gowns and business suits --- flocks to this Malibu branch of Mr. Chow, which has sister establishments in Beverly Hills, London, New York and Miami. Come as you are for a meal in the dining room near the semi-open kitchen or get a quick fix at the bar, which offers an abbreviated menu with some dishes from the dinner menu, such as the glazed prawns with walnuts. If you prefer a quieter setting, opt for the enclosed patio. The signature black-and-white color scheme is in effect, though white is featured more prominently. A Champagne cart makes its way around the restaurant, enticing guests with a glass of bubbly to start. The menu of Chinese fare is similar to what you’d encounter at the other locations, though here you’ll find that the potstickers have their own unique fillings, which change from time to time. Lettuce cups and dumplings are also popular starters. Every night, a cart is brought into the dining room and one of the chefs treats guests to a noodle-making demonstration. Asterisks on the menu denote specialties of the house, including the Dressed Dungeness Crab. A few family-style prix-fixe menus are also available. Desserts lean on typical American recipes like cheesecake, chocolate cake and a berry tart. Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé and Château d'Yquem are a few of the temptations on the wine list. There are even pricier selections, too, including a section dubbed “The Magnificent Seven” dedicated to the Grand Cru wines of Bordeaux. Malibu’s Mr. Chow also boasts its own cocktail selection with offerings like the Ly-Chow-Tini. Service is friendly and attentive.
