Murray's Cheese Bar Restaurant Review:

Murray’s has been slinging cheese on Bleecker Street in the West Village since 1940. This sister restaurant a few storefronts away was created decades later as a place to sit down and eat a cheese-centric meal. The space is cozy and bright, with a long marble bar and fire engine red chairs. Cheese plates are as diverse and carefully curated as one might expect, made to order and by request (ask for extra stinky or plenty of goat, or whatever your cheese whims dictate) and paired with playful condiments, like pickled kimchi and gooey white chocolate. It’s also possible to eat a full dinner, perhaps starting with mushroom toast, soaked in Madeira cream and brightened with lemon, then working your way up to earthy lamb meatballs dotted with sheep feta or a grass-fed burger dripping in rarebit cheddar sauce. Raclette service for two will warm the coldest night. For dessert, Stilton ice cream is salty-sweet and decadent. The wine list is short yet thoughtful, with affordable bottles from around the world, and craft beers are on tap.
