Nai Tapas Restaurant Review:
Located in the former East Village space that housed a tapas bar, this Spanish restaurant picked up where its predecessor left off. Handsomely bedecked in dark woods and high tables, Nai's menu doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. The affordable tapas offerings are nearly identical to what you might find in an ordinary, salt-of-the-earth tapas bar in, say, Madrid, which isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it’s quite refreshing, given the Spanish trend of elevating classic dishes. Creamy salt cod croquettes compete for your taste buds' attention with shrimp in a cauldron of garlic and the ubiquitous patatas bravas. Wines hail mostly from Spain with decent bottles below $30. There are also variations on the theme of sangría, including mango flavor.
