This authentic Vietnamese restaurant is one of the oldest, and most elegant in the city. Orchids share table space with all the usual condiments, and there are restful painting of the Vietnamese countryside on the walls. Abundant plants lend an almost tropical feel, and there is a full bar and wine list. The delicacy of the cuisine is exemplified in dishes like bean thread crabmeat soup and the traditional crêpe filled with shrimp, pork and vegetables. Beneath the simpler fare like sizzling steak or broken rice with char-grilled meat, there are exotica like pork intestine and jelly fish salad to please the most experimental diner. The European influence is reflected in flan for dessert, but there are lychees and ice cream, too.
