Nasch Austrian Bistro Restaurant Review:

Nasch Austrian Bistro is a tidy and cozy dining spot located in downtown Los Gatos. Chef Matthias Froeschl, who hails from a small town in Austria, sources würstel (sausages) and Bavarian pretzels from the best purveyors he can find. He whips up a smooth and satisfying chicken liver mousse along with a potent pumpkin seed-flavored quark, and delivers the cheesy goods with his spätzle, essentially Austrian mac ‘n’ cheese (add bacon and cabbage for a hearty meal). Try the gemischter salat, a medley of cabbage, cucumber, carrot and market mixed greens, to get a true taste of Austria. Another favorite is the pork schnitzel alongside potato salad, sauerkraut or red cabbage. Flieger toast topped with fried egg is savory and satisfying, while the chicken paprikash delivers a moist and savory execution of this traditional dish. Choose from a good selection of wine and beers, many from Europe. Classic apfel strudel or Sacher torte and Austrian roasted kaffee punctuate the escape.
