New Leaf Cafe Restaurant Review:

Up on the northern tip of Manhattan are many “I can't believe I'm in New York sights” --- the medieval Cloisters, Fort Tryon Park's Heather Garden, and New Leaf Café. Housed in a stone 1930s building, the airy eatery serves organic American cuisine that satisfies the palate and soul. If you’re here for brunch, challah french toast is paired with chicken-apple sausage, caramelized bananas and Vermont maple syrup. Dinner options range from appetizers such as Maryland crab cake and chickpea calamari to roasted pheasant and hanger steak. New Leaf is part of the New York Restoration Project, which was founded by Bette Midler in 1995 to help prettify the city and galvanize communities. But this is no half-baked nonprofit café --- it's a one-of-a-kind restaurant that's as restorative as a weekend away.
