THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Nine Thirty Six Restaurant Review:
This restaurant fits its Fountain Square neighborhood. It is a little upscale, a little down home, a little smooth and a little rough around the edges. But what it lacks in décor and an ambitious menu, it makes up for in creativity, good service and the promise of being a don't-miss dining spot. Dishes such as lobster and shrimp tostada and Cobb salad with crab, shrimp and smoked salmon are original and succeed in flavor and appeal. The filet part of the filet Manhattan is great; the potatoes and gravy need a little tweaking. If you're a middle-of-the-road-type of guy, stick with the Caribbean chili; shrimp and penne pasta; and tiered chocolate cake for dessert.
