THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Noi Restaurant Review:

Taking over the space formally occupied by Little Italy, Noi has kept the small, split-level restaurant an Italian house. The stylish remodel transformed the former red-checkered tablecloths and candle wax-covered bottle décor into the picture of a successful contemporary restaurant-dark wood details, earth-toned walls, Pottery Barn-chic sconces. Too bad the kitchen didn’t get the same attention. Dishes like melted scamorze cheese with sautéed mushrooms or smoked salmon wrapped asparagus and Mascarpone cheese taste either clunky or ill conceived. Entrées like veal saltimbocca or grilled lamb chops, as well as the nice variety of pastas satisfy without sparkling. Still, a devoted crowd of mostly neighborhood families brings life to the room and keeps the small staff quite busy.
