THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Nonna of Italy Restaurant Review:
With its sleek, modern good looks, Nonna of Italy is enticing even before cracking open the menu, which is grounded in the classics. Produce from local farmers plays a major role in the cooking. Among starters are beef carpaccio, crispy calamari with saffron aïoli, and a salad of arugula, goat cheese, golden beets and candied walnuts in a light walnut vinaigrette. Pastas range from spaghetti with generous chunks of lobster to spinach-ricotta ravioli in a brown butter and sage sauce. Thin-crusted pizzas are also recommended, and entrées include osso buco and a hefty roasted veal chop. The wine list features everything from modest Sicilians to pricey Gaja Barbarescos, and a solid tiramisu is a popular way to finish up.
