THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED North Beach Lobster Shack Restaurant Review:

Russell Deutsch, a former lobster exporter originally from the Boston area, has opened a second Shack (the original is in Redwood City) and imported wall hangings including buoys and fishing nets as well as picnic benches from Maine and Boston to lend a quaint New England harbor ambience. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t live up to the authentic décor. Steamers (soft-shell clams) had not been purged and were so sandy they were inedible. The lobster in the Big “Lobstah” Louie was flavorless, chewy, and ice cold as if it had been refrigerated. Unfortunately, the meat in the lobster roll came from the same bland, chilly selection. We finally struck gold with the fried whole-belly clams---dusted with a thin coat of flour and fried just long enough to render them golden and crispy on the outside while remaining soft and creamy inside, these are worth a visit for any New England transplant.
