: Billed as a "nuevo bistro," this Argentine eatery was the first of five throughout North and South America. It caters to hungry SoHo shoppers, hip ex-pats, and worldly diners in search of good steaks. The atmosphere is casual and occasionally raucous (especially during the televised soccer games) and the food is authentically Argentinean, from the signature empanadas and grilled skirt steak in chimichurri sauce to the panqueques con dulce de leche for dessert. The wine list is decent and the service helpful, with a decidedly European vibe --- meaning that when you’re ready to go, you’ll most likely have to chase down your server to get the bill. |
