THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ohba Restaurant Review:

East meets West with a bang at this somewhat exotic and appealing Wicker Park hot spot. World cuisine is the scope, and there is an excellent array of seafood dishes, some of them absolute knockouts. Bamboo, wood and glass abound, as do the colors of sage green and mustard. Banquette seating is very communal (as in close), but there is more communing if you opt for a communal table. Savor the saké to end all saké lists. Prices are a bit hefty, but if you love saké, this is your place. Not to be outdone, the wine list is also extensive, and some of the wine flights are impressive in depth and scope. If you are not into adventuresome eating, Ohba is not the place for you. A few things to try: Hawaiian hamachi (yellowtail tuna) flashed in sizzling yuzu vinaigrette, a tasting of duck pairs spiced and smoked duck with foie gras mousse, uni-crusted filet mignon (uni is sea urchin roe). Desserts are totally trendy and amusing, and we like the idea of a flight of ice cream and sorbet as a sweet palate cleanser.
