Lines are long, but service is swift at this counter-service grill just a few blocks from the White House. Ollie’s peppery seasoned fries are the reason many office workers return---that and the fact that a generous lunch with drink will set you back $6.59 or less, and dinners are all under $10. Who else in Washington has a crab cake sandwich for $5.79? Burgers, subs, sandwiches and Lebanese specialties---falafel, kababs, fettoosh---round out the menu. Some claim Ollie’s makes the best burgers in town, so check them out. Other regulars splurge on the $2.99 big breakfast: two eggs, meat, potato or grits and toast. Carry-out service is brisk, or there are tables upstairs and down.
