Orso Restaurant Review:

Glass chandeliers dripping crystals from high ceilings create the mood. Not a traditional European establishment, this place is far larger --- actually more like a movie set or someone’s vision of an upscale Italian restaurant. Cocktail fans will enjoy the lounge, one of Anchorage's best, which proposes a wide variety of specialty drinks and liqueurs, along with 150 wine choices, including 20 available by the glass. Caesar salad is basic, but fresh and tasty. There are plenty of classic Italian entrées, such as chicken Parmesan ORSO style, a Parmesan-crusted chicken breast topped with house-made tomato sauce and mozzarella and served with vegetable herb capellini. Or order the ORSO burger, ground beef with Cambozola melted in the center, with bacon slices and all the fixings. Remember to save room for sweet finishes, which may include tiramisu and molten chocolate cake. Split a slice of cheesecake with blueberry compote and a side of vanilla ice cream. In addition to the sizable wine list, ORSO offers locally brewed beers from the Glacier Brewhouse, ORSO’s sister restaurant located right next door.
