: With a light show of hundreds of luminescent red chili peppers dangling from the ceiling like electronic stalactites, the long narrow room is intimate (and barely bigger than a large walk-in closet). The waiters rush guests in, hand them a menu, open their alcoholic beverages (it's BYOB here, no corkage fee) and are ready, pencil in hand, to take orders. Start with the flavorful mulligatawny soup. For entrées, tender chicken makhani is cooked with butter, pineapple, almonds and spices while alu mottor gobi offers a savory mix of spices, potatoes, green peas and cabbage. For an extra fifty cents, you can order dishes “vindaloo” (extra spicy). The food here isn't bad---just expect your other senses to be more blown away than your taste buds. |
