THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Papi's Cuban & Caribbean Grill Restaurant Review:

Papi's is a small local chain of family-friendly and family-owned establishments. Reynaldo "Rey" Regalado named the enterprise for his late father, as Papi means "Daddy" in Spanish. Specializing in the cooking of eastern Cuba, the six restaurants (including one at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport) offer authentic Cuban fare, which blends Spanish cooking with African and many other culinary traditions. We find the croquetas de jamón as close to what we've enjoyed in Spain as any in the city --- and a lot closer than most. Some dishes are full-on Mediterranean, such as the quite tasty camarones al ajillo, or shrimp with garlic, butter and olive oil. Puerto Rican mofongo comes with shrimp as well, and the Cuban ropa vieja, a beef stew, pollo a la Milanesa (breaded chicken breast with tomato sauce) and the classic sandwiches like the Medianoche and the Cuban will make return trips necessary. Wines offered aren't very thrilling, and there are beers and cocktails. Flan, tres leches and guava pastries are among the good desserts. Cuban coffee is available, too.
