Although it has the most nondescript setting of all the Pappas enterprises, this 1967 original outpost remains a favorite because of its tender meat offerings. Loyal fans and downtown office workers especially chow down on what are arguably the city's best slow-cooked brisket, sausage and pork ribs. These standards are joined on the chopping block with house favorites like ham, turkey and chicken. As at all the Pappas restaurants, huge portions are a trademark. The line can get pretty long early in the day as folks stop to pick up breakfast on the way to work. It's hard to beat a taco, hash browns and coffee for just a dollar.
