The Parish Restaurant Review:

From the sparkly chandeliers to the dark paneled walls, the best way to describe The Parish’s space is shabby-chic, cozy but not cramped. Blending the basics of true Southern fare with flavors from the Southwest and beyond, the menu at this pub offers familiar dishes prepared in unique ways. Grab a seat at the small bar and nosh on bacon popcorn or a plate of crawfish hush puppies. There are fresh oysters, too, but the bivalves are also served baked with blue cheese, bacon and Creole breadcrumbs. Frogs’ legs (The Parish is probably the only place in town that serves them) are rubbed with black pepper and horseradish, while a chile relleno is filled with goat cheese. And while the fish ‘n’ chips may not be the “world’s crispiest” as stated on the menu, the coating crackles with each bite. Pork rinds, gumbo, boiled peanuts and cornbread are part of the lineup as well, and meat lovers have several options, including the Alabama quail stuffed with shrimp, andouille and mushroom cornbread. Pair your meal with a specialty cocktail. For dessert, go for the bread pudding.
