: Hidden behind the reception desk of the Park Central New York hotel in Midtown, this eatery, centered by an island bar, looks as if it was conceived in Moscow in the 1980s. But don’t let the gaudy design deter you. With a chef and mixologist who both served time at Eleven Madison Park, Park Kitchen is a lot easier on the taste buds than it is the eyes. The New York-centric cocktail list uses local spirits when possible, including one dedicated to each of the five boroughs. And then start with the PB&J, which isn’t what it seems: pork belly and chili jelly on toast. And don’t skip the crispy chicken wings that are given a sriracha kick. Mains include everything from a decent burger to a very edible spice-rubbed bone-in sirloin. Finish things off with the sticky sweet brownie sundae. |
