Rare is the restaurant that succeeds in the attempt to be all things to all people. Tucked away in a Breckenridge shopping plaza, this crayon-colored café is an exception morning, noon and night. Families like it for the staff’s cheerful accommodation of kiddos. Powder hounds appreciate the punch its portions pack: breakfast items like the egg strata du jour and hefty burritos stuffed with corned beef and green chile can fuel a full day on the slopes. Epicureans will note the kitchen’s irrepressible creativity: think bruschetta topped with sweet potatoes, ricotta, walnuts and honey followed by a sandwich of fried zucchini, Fontina, pickled jalapeños and potato chips all piled on a baguette at lunch, or brown sugar-braised pork belly over white beans and kale at dinner.
