French chef Pascal Olhats' fine dining restaurant Tradition by Pascal at Plaza Newport may be no more, but we can still enjoy this casual spot from the French chef in the same shopping center. Patrons can get croissants and other bakery items to go, or order at the counter from a light menu of salads and sandwiches. On the weekends there are additional offerings for breakfast, such as oeufs en cocotte (eggs with tarragon cream sauce served in a ramekin). Be sure to browse the desserts, including macarons, cookies, tarts and cakes. Seating is available inside and outside. There is also a selection of prepared foods for takeout (ratatouille, lentil salad) as well as gourmet products (caviar, cheeses) and French wines. Picnic packages can be ordered a day prior to pickup.
