THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED The fine dining-nightclub combo can be tricky---usually one or the other suffers under the weight of expectations. Pearl is an exception to the rule. Spunky starters include the silky tempura beef short rib, Indonesian-style baby-backs and a first-rate flash grilled hamachi. Influences range from Thailand and Vietnam to Japan and China, an appealing mix that stays true to its roots. A DJ, bottle service and a VIP scene take over upstairs as the night wears on. A decent saké offering, imported Asian beer and creative cocktails add appeal.
