THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW CALLED PAMLICO JACK’S. The views of the Roanoke Sound draw your eye away from the overdone interior of the restaurant to the striking exterior. Booths offer some privacy for an intimate meal. Settle in and pair a wine from the notable list with such starters as creamy jumbo lump crab bisque or mesquite-grilled wasabi shrimp with teriyaki-wasabi butter sauce and sesame sticky rice. For an entrée we recommend the moist pan-seared fish piccata, tossed with capers and artichokes and served over angel hair pasta. Another favorite: Angus beef tenderloin grilled over an open mesquite flame. The dessert menu includes all the traditional sweets. While this restaurant doesn’t boast the finest dining on the Outer Banks, it is good for a family meal, a lighter app-and-salad-based meal or a friendly dinner.
