Penn's Thai Cafe Restaurant Review:
This hidden gem of a spot is so tiny that the effervescent Wompen Phelps (Penn for short), who is from the Northeast region of Thailand, prepares everything herself and sometimes serves it, too, in a sunny room decorated with framed photographs of her family, taken in the countryside of northeast Thailand. The menu is surprisingly extensive and includes dishes like pad thai, fried rice, curried shrimp, hot-and-sour soup, massaman curry with chicken, classic tom yum soup, crab Rangoon and spicy eggplant with sweet basil. The heat factor is delivered as ordered, so know if you say hot, you get hot. Penn's house-made coconut ice cream affords the perfect ending to a satisfying meal. Prices are very reasonable.
