Pennsylvania 6 Restaurant Review:

The area around Madison Square Garden in the West 30s doesn’t have a reputation for offering quality dining options, and it never really has. But then there’s Pennsylvania 6, a combination gastropub and sports bar. The presence of large-screen TVs surrounding the elegant dining room might lower expectations for eating well, but it should not be the case. The competent kitchen turns out solid international fare that makes watching your team lose sting a little less. Start with a skillet of ultra-creamy blue crab mac ‘n’ cheese, the fried shishito peppers, or the pepper sauce-laced Chinese beef buns. The rib-eye, thick and fork tender, is a standout. There are a few good and affordable wines by the glass, several beers on tap, and a short list of gin- and bourbon-based house cocktails.
