THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Phillips Seafood Restaurant Review:
Phillips Seafood offers a spectacular view from its location on a modern pier that straddles the Atlantic City shoreline. The eatery serves fresh seafood in a trademark environment established some 50 years ago on Maryland's famed Eastern Shore. Classics such as signature jumbo lump crab cakes, anything from the raw bar, and selections that are simply grilled, roasted or sautéed are reliably good, while dishes that require a more skilled hand tend to disappoint. The clambake for two is a seafood extravaganza. If you can bear the freight --- it's sold at market price --- you'll have a feast comprised of two whole Maine lobsters, king crab legs, shrimp, clams, mussels, potatoes and corn on the cob. The wine list is heavy on whites, as one might expect from a seafood establishment, but there are also some elegant reds. Among the smart cocktails is the Juniper Sunset made with Tanqueray Gin, peach purée, fresh lemonade and a layer of deep color and rich flavor from Cabernet Sauvignon.
