Alicante Restaurant Review:

Passersby along Palm Canyon Drive are often drawn to the threshold of Alicante; just walking past the restaurant makes you want to join the party within its walls. Affordable and casual, Alicante offers a menu of mainly Spanish tapas that lends itself to a leisurely evening of sharing and sipping. Choose from pasta dishes and charcuterie, too. Grilled calamari stuffed with chorizo and punctuated with capers and fried parsley makes for a nice starter. Anything with a fried egg on top, such as the grilled artichoke heart, is something to consider. Plenty of gluten-free options are available. The wine list is a bit limited for a true oenophile, but all the varietals are represented. Cocktails seem to be what Alicante does best, with a list of the usual suspects plus whiskey drinks. Look for a nice selection of craft beer on tap and bottled brews. Save room for dessert: cheesecake made with goat cheese and paired with ice cream and aged balsamic and berries is our top pick.
