Buca di Beppo Restaurant Review:

You’ll feel just like you’re in Italy. Well, sort of. The portions are huge---the food is meant for sharing and even the smaller menu options for couples are enough to gorge three or four. Frank Sinatra plays over the sound system, black-and-white photos of JFK adorn the walls and the tables are all covered with red-and-white checked cloths. Our choice is the chicken Marsala with its wine-sweetened mushrooms and tender chicken along with garlic mashed potatoes. Or sample the pastas---we’re partial to the chicken cannelloni and the baked manicotti---both perfect for warding off the infamous Minnesota chill. The red sauce is a little sweet for our liking, and the meatball (as big as a softball) always sounds better on the menu than it tastes. Tiramisu gets decent marks for its liberal dose of espresso and dark rum; like everything else, it’s served in a portion large enough to impress even a diehard dessert connoisseur. But everybody knows that dining at Buca is really about the experience, not the cuisine.
